So it's official...Danny and I have sent off our applications to dental and pharmacy school. We are applying to about 23 schools each! Yes that is more than most people but most people only have one person applying. With the two of us applying and needing to get into the same school it's going to be pretty tough. So now we just wait....and study for our tests coming up in three weeks!! So soon I can't even believe it. So our days consists of being at the library studing for those. I feel like we are in limbo land. We are planners, and we have no clue where we are going to be a year from now. We could be in Florida, Buffalo (no I'm not joking, we actually applied to a school in Buffalo, NY) or not get in at all and still be living in Utah. We won't here back from schools for quite a while...some pharmacy schools don't even start interviewing until February! So we are just going to be in limbo for the next year if feels like. Hopefully we'll find out sooner but who knows.
Anyways...
Things have also been really great lately. In May Amber and the babes came home for a visit. And we finally got to meet baby Beckam and he is adorable! It was so fun to be able to just snuggle him for hours. He's just so sweet and we get pictures now and he's growing so fast! I can't even believe it. It was so fun to get to see them and of course Jaynie is cuter than ever and so fun. When they first got off the plane the three oldest kids linked up and were walking around like they are the best of friends. So cute.
Lately Dan and I have been cooking lots from the Unofficial Harry Potter cookbook and the recipes have been really yummy! The best was this cherry almond cake with butter frosting. I hate to brag but I've got to be honest...it was awesome. My mom even said it was the best cake she's ever had...and she isn't a big cake person so that's saying alot.
Then we made homemade butterbeer. So my uncle told me just to mix carmel sauce with cream soda and then for the froth to mix carmel with heavy whipping cream and pour it on top. Well I decided to search the internet for a recipe I thought sounded more authentic. So I take all this time to make this yummy sauce to mix with the cream soda. It had rum flavoring, sugar, vanilla, vinegar and a few other things. Well after an hour of making this sauce I realize that I have discovered a very expensive long way of making carmel sauce. Haha I should have just done what my uncle said. It was pretty good but it was soooo sweet. Making it a little to sweet to drink. So not exactly like the butterbeer in Universal Studios but pretty close.
So like many, I have discovered a new love of pinterest. It is awesome. And I saw this yummy picture of a dessert....
It looked awesome and I thought...wow how could that not taste good? Chocolate chip cookie dough for the bottom layer, oreo cookies, and brownie mix to top it off...Well it takes an hour to cook and it ends up coming out pretty hard...and the flavors don't really go together. None of us were that impressed. I get really sick of trying recipes that LOOK really amazing and then you make them and they're just...meh.
Anyways, I've got to get back to studying. Hopefully I'll have more yummy desserts to share on the next post!

Mackenzie Childs I love you.
I should really be mad at my mom for ever showing Mackenzie Childs because it's become an obsession of mine and my college butt can't buy any of it! Thank goodness for wonderful husbands, mothers and mother in-laws who will surprise me for Christmas and Birthday presents...but those aren't coming again for 8 more months! Just have to wait and build up my christmas list. So here are the new items I am currently pining over.
The frame. The paper towel holder. The tile. The knob. The canister (with two other sizes that I love). The fun rug.
You should go to the website (www.mackenzie-childs.com) they have the funnest things! The courtly check is so classic and pretty and then they have so many fun floral designs I love it.
I must also mention that today (hopefully) we will be getting a new nephew!!! We are so dang excited! Little Beckham Cruze Sanovich will be here hopefully before the end of the day. Danny and I are so excited to get another nephew. We are just sad because Randy and Amber live in Florida so we are going to have to be patient to get to meet him. Hopefully they'll come home in a couple months. I'll post pics of the little guy when we see him!

Worst Morning Ever
So I had an Organic Chemistry test this morning. I have been preparing for this test for a while and have felt really prepared for it. Another thing I had scheduled for today was a meeting with the Associate Dean of Science, Greg Owens a.k.a. the most intimidating person to speak to, discussing him writing a letter of recommendation for me for pharmacy school. The test was at 8:35 and my appointment at around 9:30.
So here is the main point of my story. Last night I had this awesome Harry Potter dream. I have these pretty frequently and they are my absolute favorite. I woke up a couple of times but hadn't heard the alarm yet so went back to platform 9 3/4. Finally I woke up and it was 9:12!!!!! Not joking. I immediately through my phone across the room, because it misbehaved and did not sound the alarm to wake me up. Oh and apparently I smacked Danny in the stomach screaming, "it's 9:12!" I don't remember this...I think I suffer from rage blackouts. Anyways I send two frantic emails explaining what happened and rush to school to see if I can find the professor and convince her to let me take the test.
After some searching I find her after seeing me in my current state of hysteria she says, "Oh sweetheart what's wrong?" (I love the women Chemistry teachers who are just so sweet) Sobbing through the words, "I slept in" she stops me and says, "That's just fine, you can take it...just not like this. Go get a drink, take a half hour, calm down and then come back and take the test...no big deal." Biggest sigh of relief. I did just that. Got a drink, came back and took the test. Which I am happy to report I got a 94% on :)
So for those of you who saw my facebook status today that said, "Prof Holly Sebahar is a saint" you now know why.

Florida!
Danny and I are applying to schools this year and University of Florida is number one on our list of places we want to go.
Here are the reasons why
1-Danny's brother Randy and his family lives there
2-Disney World is there
3-the beach
4-the weather
5-Harry Potter land is there
So we went down over spring break to tour the school and meet some of the administration and try to convince them they should accept us :) It went really well, Danny worked in the Dental and Oral Surgery clinic for a few days which was really cool for him. I met and toured the hospital/school with one of the administrators and got some great one on one time with her. It was a very successful trip! And after the work was done we played...hard!
One day we went down this river that is a natural lazy river that you take tubes down and it takes like an hour and a half to get down. All of us went to go but Randy got called back to the hospital so while Amber took him back Danny and I took our niece Jaynie down the river. It was so much fun. She is 2 1/2 and the cutest dang thing you have ever seen. We had to go on this hike to get to the river. (Those of you who know me know that when I say hike I mean a 10 minute walk on a flat dirt trail) And Dan and I carried the tube and had Jaynie hold onto a rope so she could keep up and not run off. Every once and I while Danny had to stop and stretch because his back was hurting him. (also if you didn't know Danny had major back surgery a little over a year ago...he wasn't just being dramatic about the "hike") And sure enough after the first time that happened Jaynie looked at
Danny and said, "Uncle Danny I can't hold this rope anymore."
Danny-"How come Jaynie Bug?"
Jaynie- "It's hurting my back I need to rest for a minute."
So anyways we get on the river and it was so nice a relaxing. Until. I had the oars and was just making sure we didn't hit a tree on the edge of the river and managed to back us up onto a stick and popping a hole in our tube! We still had 45 minutes until we reached the end! It was a pretty small hole so Danny stuck his thumb in it and Jaynie and I rowed (spelling?) down the rest of the river! It was so funny and she was so excited that she was rowing all by herself. Too funny.

Then we went to Universal Studios one day to go to Harry Potter land which was the coolest thing ever. The butterbeer was to die for, the treats were delicious and the shopping was so fun!

Then we had an amazing day relaxing at clearwater beach. In love.

After being in Florida it makes us want to be able to go to school there so badly. So everyone cross your fingers for us!!!

Cruise Wrap-Up

Cruise 2011!
We have spoiled ourselves the past month or so and it's going to be hard to get back to normal life. We decided instead of giving each other gifts for Valentine's Day we would...go on a cruise with us and 6 other couples to the Mexican Riviera and it was so wonderful. And to top that off for our anniversary we decided to spend it in Florida! (to come on the next post)
So almost all of Danny's friend married their high school sweethearts and they have all stayed really close friends and it is always so much fun when we are all together. So the fourteen of us decided to jet off to Mexico on a CRUISE! Best idea ever. We got it for a killer deal and flights for dirt cheap thanks to some of their parents working for the airline. We spent the first night in Long Beach, and went to Bubba Gump for some awesome seafood! Then we left sunday morning for the cruise!

The cruise was great! We went to Cabo and Puerta Vallerta (guaranteed I spelled that wrong) we were supposed to go to Mazatlan but they had closed that port due to violence so we got an extra day in Cabo (we were just fine with that!) Life on the ship was so relaxing compared to life at home. No work, no school and no alarm clocks. The days at sea were spent laying out (even though it got a little too windy some days) eating, gambling, playing games, karaoke and relaxing :) I'll be honest...Danny and I weren't dying over the food. Don't get me wrong it was all fine. Just not great. And we got a little too lost in the casino sometimes. Dangerous. They had some funny comedians that had shows on the ship that were always fun to go to.
The excursions!!
Ok. So I am not the type of person to go on excursions on cruises and vacations. Why? I'm lazy, want to sleep in and usually feel like they are a waste of money. But everyone really wanted to do the zip line, and we also found a really good deal on a snorkeling one so we decided to sign up for the excursions!
First Cabo-
Six of us went on the snorkeling excursion. We met up with our awesome guide who took us out into the water and showed us so many cool fish! He even dove down and got a puffer fish that we could hold. Everyone held it but me...I got too nervous. Times like this I wish I weren't so skittish and I were just more daring! Oh well I still have time to work on that. Anyways. He was awesome and when he took us back into Cabo he dropped us off at this awesome street taco stand. I actually surprised myself and decided to try some and they were amazing! The smoked marlin tacos were my favorite. Getting around wasn't too bad either thanks to Dallas learning spanish from his mission. We did some shopping and got a few gifts. After the snorkeling we just laid on the beach and it was amazing. :)

(sorry I couldn't rotate this for whatever reason)
I have alot more to post about the trip...seriously this is only have of it.
And then there is Florida.
But at this very moment I am sitting in the Orlando airport at 2:33 AM waiting for my flight and I am so tired. But I know that if I don't post what I've just done it will never get posted. Seriously. You should see how many drafts of posts I have and never post. It's ridiculous. I'd say "more to come!!" but who knows. I might not even post for 6 more months. I've hit my wall and I'm really tired. Goodnight.

Mini update
So I have quite a large update to do about the holidays but I'm at school without all of my pictures because I'm on a school computer so I'll just do a tiny little post for today and then update later.
I want a puppy.
Plain and simple, and I'm turning 21 in a few days and wish with all my heart that I could ask for a puppy but seeing as we live with my parents and they (mostly Greg) would kill me if I got a puppy so I'll just have to wait a little longer. We really want some cute little dog for our first dog and eventually when we have kids it'll be small and manageable and hopefully kid friendly...BUT I've decided that when I'm a little more seasoned with age I really want a Blood Hound. They are the prettiest dogs and just seem so cool...yes I know you're all probably wondering if I have ever been around a Blood Hound...well no. But we watched Best in Show the other day and they just look like the prettiest dogs and seem awesome. Who knows I'll probably change my mind.
Wow someone needs to tell Danny that he shouldn't take me to pet stores anymore...well actually I begged him to go just to hold and look at some puppies :)
I'll just do a mini update...
School ended and even though last semester was jam packed it all paid off, Danny got a 4.0 and I got a 3.93. I am so proud of us especially Danny with all of the time he put in this semester. We are currently taking a lighter load this semester because we take our graduate admissions tests to Pharmacy and Dental school this summer and want to have time to study for those. STRESSFUL!!! Oh my heck, getting ready for these tests and trying to find schools that have both Dental and Pharmacy programs, and work, and current classes it is all just so stressful. And then after all of that planning and studying and hard work we don't get in?...STOP...I have to remind myself not to think like that.
We are applying to around 10 schools each, right now we are just in the process of narrowing them down. Are top four we want to go to are 1. University of Florida (Danny's brother is doing his residency down there so it'd be fun to be close to family) 2. Virginia Commonwealth (My sister Carlie is in D.C. so we'd be close to her) 3. Washington State University and 4. UNLV dental while I would be at USN Pharmacy. The appeal of UNLV is that it's close to home and for some reason we both really like the idea of UW. So we'll see! Hopefully it all goes well and all this stress will be for nothing.
...Sorry one more thing I'm stressing over...
so in looking at all of these schools we are also comparing there costs and fees for tuitions...HOLY COW!! School is going to be so expensive I can't believe it! Some Dental schools are 80K per year!!! ....Danny gets frustrated and says that I love to dwell on future problems that I can't do anything about. Yup, it's true. Clearly.
Well I'm off to lunch with my Danny, more updates to come!
